Germany Trade Mission Update: Day 1

Today marked the beginning of our 2009 trade mission to Germany. For the next 11 days, myself and representatives from the Indy Partnership made our way through the country, sharing information about our region and nurturing relationships with area leaders.

We arrived in Frankfurt, Germany at 8:00am and quickly boarded the train heading south to Stuttgart and the trade centre for the MoTek Expo. The show is for companies involved with machines and processes to improve efficiency in manufacturing. During this trade show I was able to meet with four individual companies that had we had prearranged prior to the show. Between those meetings I also took advantage of the show by networking, sharing information and meeting with other companies.

Thursday holds promise for continued progress with four more meetings scheduled, one of which will be with the Stuttgart Regional Chamber of Commerce. This trade mission is off to a great start and we are looking forward to the relationships and opportunities that will arise from our time spent here.
